The paper consists of two parts:Part I: A novel type of Lanthanide heteropolymolybadate complexes, (NH4)11Gd [Gd4Mo29O100(H2O)23]25.75H2O(complex I ) and (NH4)12H10[Nd4Mo29O104(H2O)12]22H2O(complex II ), were synthesized. The complexes crystallized in the triclinic system, space group PI and were characterized by IR, TG-DTA and elemental analysis.Part II : A series of charge-transfer complexes exhibiting photochromic properities were synthesized in aqueous from qainoline, N-methylpyrolidone N,N-dimethylaniline and series vanadate substituted molybdophosphoric with Keggin structure, and charactered by elemental analysis, ICP, IR, diffusion reflectance electronic spectra, ESR and TG. The results indicated that (1) the anions of the heteropoly acids maintain the Keggin structure after the charge-transfer complexes were formed. (2) there is a strong interaction between organic species and the anion. (3) Electron can be transferred between organic species and inorganic anion under light irradiation.A novel charge-transfer complex was synthesized between quinoline and Y-Si-Mo tribasic polyoxometalate with Keggin structure. Its structure and properties were investigated by elemental analysis, ICP, IR, diffusion reflectance electronic spectra, XRD, and TG. Spectroscopic data support the presence of a interaction between organic species and inorganic anions in the solid state. The photochromic properties of the complex due to the reversible charge transfer between the organic species and anions.
