There are many nano-scale holes in the anodic Alumina membrane. A series of nano-materials can be fabricated by applying it as template. During the course of nano-structural materials construction, the dream of people can be implemented freely. Therefore, design and construction of nano-materials by using porous Alumina membrane as template have been thriving in the nano-materials field.The pattern and mechanism of porous Alumina membrane had been investigated by TEM,SEM and AFM in this paper. Moreover, influence of Aluminum pretreatment, Aluminum purity, preparation process of Aluminum anodic oxidation and two-step anodic oxidation on the Alumina membrane had also been studied. The result indicated that the porous Alumina membrane was made of two layer films which were one layer porous Alumina film in the surface of membrane and the other barrier layer inside. The barrier layer was compaction and had no hole. But the porous layer contained high density holes which were parallel each other and the hole apertures were the same. The parameters of porous Alumina membrane, such as aperture, hole density and aspect ratio, membrane thickness, had been effected by many factors mentioned above.Furthermore, highly ordered porous Alumina membrane had been fabricated by two-step anodic oxidization, which the regularity of hole arrangement was obviously better than the membrane by one-step anodic oxidization. Nickel ,Cobalt and Alumina arrays had been prepared by direct current deposition using two-step anodic oxidation membrane. XRD,TEM and VSM were employed to study the morphology and magnetic performance of it. The result showed the arrays were composed of highly aspect ratio nanowires that were single-crystal metal and amorphous Alumina. This kind of magnetic film had definite preferred-orientation and obvious magnetic anisotropy. It was promising for perpendicular magnetic recording medium.
