In the paper, the study on the weapon composites underwater is the application base investigation for new type of torpedo.Based on the mechanical properties test for six kinds of resin and seven kinds of composites, the epoxy 6101-"70" system with outstanding performance is selected as matrix material. And with the investigation on high strength S-2 roving/ epoxy, E-fiber/ epoxy and hybrid/epoxy system, the E-fiber/epoxy system is selected out optimistically.According to the demands of weapon composites underwater, such as bearing the hydrostatic pressure of 6.0MPa, no leak and damage in two years, the leakproof method is worked out with the numerical experiments, namely adding the leakproof laminate between the winding laminates. And the diffusion coefficient of leakproof laminate is tested to get the diffusion time in seawater, which shows that the properties of leakproof laminate can meet the technology requirements of leakproof in two years.Furthermore, the effect of different immersing mediums including fresh water, distilled water and seawater on the moisture absorption and removing of weapon composites underwater is discussed as well as the moisture absorption mechanism. The results suggest that the immersing mediums have influence to the strength remain rate with the falling sequence of fresh water, distilled water and seawater. The main factors that have great effect on the moisture absorption behavior is the nature characters and structure of materials, especially the voids in composites. The weapon composites shell (534mm X 2450mm) which has been produced out successfully can satisfy the above leakproof demands, which has instructive significance for the batch production of new type of torpedo in China.
