Melt-spun PrFeB magnetic powders and their bonded magnets were prepared with the optimization of compositions and preparation techniques. Effects of heat treatment, melt-spinning and molding to PrFeB alloy and magnet were studied. It showed that, magnetic properties of PrFeB increased after the addition of alloy elements of Co and Zr with appropriate amount. Different melt-spun speed and different heat treatment could result in different magnetic properties of PrFeB magnets. When the melt-spun speed reached 29m/s, heat treatment temperature was 690C and time was 30 minutes, the magnetic properties of Pr12.8Fe77.7Co2.5Zr1 B6 alloy got the best, magnetic properties of which bonded magnet were followed: Br=5050Gs, Hcj=8700Oe and (BH)m=6.47MGOe.The effects of preparation techniques to properties of bonded PrFeB magnets have been studied too. These techniques included bonding solvent, solidifying solvent, solidifying techniques, magnet density and magnetic powder granularity. The bonded magnets with excellent magnetic properties were manufactured by wetly-mixed epoxy and PrFeB powders, which granularity was 100 to 140, and under the pressure of 600 to 800 Mpa. Then the magnets were solidified 2 hours, under the temperature of 160C.At last, some suggestions for further research for PrFeB magnets were given.
