There are three parts in this paper. First of all, the brief introductions on advance concernning natural product chemistry and essensial principles of isolation and identification followed by our researches on the chemical constituents of angelica dahurica and Fissistigma polyanthum Merr. including the brief review about progress of angelica dahurica are reviewed.Angelica dahurica is a kind of commom Chinese herb medicine used to lighten ache. It from suining in sichuan is good at trurborn qualities which has never been researched. From dried roots of angelica dahurica, nine compounds including eight liner-furancourmarins have been isolated and identified by spectroscopic methods as isoimperatorin, imperatorin, isooxypeucedanin, bergapten, cnidilin, byakangelicol, alloisoimperatorin, xanthotoxol respectively and the last one is daucosterol.Fissistigma polyanthum Merr., a herb distributed in the southwest of China, is uesd in traditional Chinese medicine to ease pains, cure arthritis and emmeniopathy. Antivirus constituents were found recently from extract of it. Our investigation on the MeOH extract of the plant has led to the isolation of 10 compounds, three of which are identified as 6,7,7,a,8- Tetrahydro- 5H-benzo[g][l,3]dioxolo[4,5,4,5]benzo[ 1,2,3- dejquinoline, daucosterol, $ -sitosterol, other 7 compunds are to be identified.
