Teasaponins is a mixture of oleanene-type triterpene saponin that extracted from theaceae camellia plants. It has many bioactivities as well as fine surface activity. Teasaponins also has many pharmacology functions,for example,antifungi,antiinflammation,antivirus,antioxidant,antihypertension,alcohol-absorbing inhibition,protect gastrointestinal effect and insecticide,it is showing wide prospective of utilization.Two common used methods of quantitative determination of teasaponins:vanillin-oil of vitriol color reaction method and determination aglycone method were compared and the standard curves of quantitative determination were protracted using self-made standard sample. This is the quantitative base for analyzing teasaponins' quantities;this article's emphasis is to investigate the technics of isolating and purifying the teasaponins from camellia oil cake. On the base of improving the product ratio,the high-purified product of teasaponins was gained. At the same time,in order to expanding the utilization of teasaponins,its antifungi activities were explored.The results of determination methods showed that these two methods were both suitable for quantitative determination of teasaponins. But they had themselves' advantages and defects. Vanillin-oil of vitriol color reaction method was a most common used method of saponin analyzing. This method had the advantages of sensitivity,operation,and simple. But comparatively it needed strictly control reaction condition,otherwise analyzing results would be error. Determination aglycone method was characterized stable repeatability and easy control. But it had defects of more reagent consumption,complex,and tested samples required firstly purified,etc. On the condition of strict controlling reaction condition,these two methods both could exactly determine the quantity of teasaponins.The isolation and purification methods of teasaponins were studied in detail and two technics schemes adapted to isolating and purifying saponins weredesigned. A kind of homemade styrene-divinylbenzene coploymer resin suitable to prdoucting teasaponins were filtered and at the same time its adoption and elution capabilities were optimized. The method of solvent extracting was also researched in detail,and the relatively good schemes of solvent-extracting method to isolating teasaponins were educed. It improved the yield ratio as well as purity of products. For the first time a safety and nontoxic solvent were used to gain the crystal of teasaponins,avoiding environmental contaminated of toxical impregnate and receiving the high purity teasaponin products.The results of antifungi revealed that teasaponins had different degree restrain to several bacteria and fungi and antifungi effects waried with teasaponins' concentration. Crude teasaponins had relatively little inhibition to bacteria and aspergillus fungi,but had strong inhibition to penixillium glaueus fungi and sigle-cell fungi,especially to Saccharomyces cerevisiate (its MIC was 3.2mg/ml). Crude teasaponins had strong inhibition to plant pathogeny fungi-Rhizoctonia cerealis vander Hoven and Verticillium dahliae(its EC50 were 80.09 and 169.24mg/ml). Result of research indicated that teasaponin had selectivity inhibition to different fungus. These results show that saponin had potent utilization value and wide foreground as an antifugal substance.
