Antibiotic is the widest-used material in the world. Its production will produce large amount of waste water, which is higher COD concentration, higher SO", concentration, chromaticity color, taste and weak biodegradability. The paper is aim to the study waste water of Sichuan province pharmaceutical plant. According to preliminary treatment study, in the course of coagulate process, the best flocculating agent is FeCl?. The condition is: quality concentration is 10%; plunge quantity is 0.2 ml/L waste water; pH is 7.99. After that, the concentrations of COD and SO2., are lower so that they will not poison tiny organism later. The efficiency is low because of all the inert constituents. We discussed other methods to treat the effluent e.g. strengthening quantity of tiny organism. What's more, we determined coefficient of anaerobic decomposition with experiments is 4.35d"'. Activated carbon can adsorb COD of water so that it is lower than the standard of producing antibiotic(300 mg/L).
