The generating equipment manufacturing is mode of single or small-batch manufacturing with the features of large-scale, complex-structure and steel-structural machine. The generator is consisted of many different kinds parts and its manufacturing must adopt the mode of gathering prqcess, optimizing layout and NC process, which can effectively increase the material utility ratio of raw steel-plate and the productive efficiency. It is necessary to implement NC automated programming by computer because optimizing layout and NC programming need deal with a great deal of data. On the background of the research project named CIMS Application Engineering in DongFang Electrical Machinery Company Ltd, which is supported by the project of National 863 Hi-Tech Plan/CIMS Practical Application Engineering, this paper researches the implementing method and key techniques of graphics data information's abstracting and processing, NC automated programming and route simulation, and develops relevant software based on the study of theory and algorithms mentioned above. The principal working and conclusions in this paper are as follows:1) By discussing the problem of two-dimensional cutting stock in the field of generator manufacture, this paper expounds the important value of increasing the material utility ratio and researches the method of achieving the optimal nesting CAD/CAM system.2) By analyzing the running course of optimal nesting CAD/CAM system, this paper The research work is supported by the project of National 863 Hi-Tech Plan/CIMS Application Engineering under Grants No. 863-511-9702-6123.ABSTRACTpresents the system structure and working principle. According to the requirements of the research project, the author establishes the general scheme of automated NC programming system and route simulation with the structured programming technique.3) This paper discusses the importance of typification idea to the NC programming and the application based on component technology to simplifying the structure of software and cutting short the amounts of data processed, and also gives the correlative mathematical model and actual applying method basing on the conclusions of it.4) By discussing the technique of accessing graphics database on the platform of AutoCAD, this paper researches the method of AutoCAD graphics data accessing based on Visual Lisp. By discussing the technique of computer simulation in the field of NC processing, this paper also provides actual applying and achieving method of the NC route simulation based on Visual Lisp.5) This paper develops the software of automated NC programming and NC route simulation on two-dimensional cutting stocks on the base of the study mentioned above, and provides the actual illustrations to introduce the main software's functions.
