Research On Feature Modeling Of Stamping Part

In this paper, the general application situation of CAD/CAM for die is reviewed and the development demand for die to realize integration of CAD/ CAM is put forward. Then after analyzing the basic method called feature modeling to realize integration, a new modeling method on feature design is presented.According to the characteristic of stamping part, tree structure is adopted to describe the relations among all features of the part and feature configuration is brought forward to express the space structure of the part. Furthermore, feature configuration of part with complicated shape and multi-layer management of part feature are realized by introducing user coordinate system into feature orientation. An example of stamping part is given to illustrate the implementation procedure of feature modeling. Another instances of bend stretching and manufacturability analysis of stamping part are given to explain how to carry out the following design using feature modeling. Finally, the direction for further research is pointed out.
