Glass-ceramics is the recent development in the material science. It is a kind of poly-crystal solid material that is made by glass heating to crystallize. As functional and structure material, it is widely used in light electric magic biological chemical fields. As construction decoration material, graceful beautiful absorbed the goodness of glass ceramics and stone.This paper mainly investigates the process schedule of using Ni-Ta tailing to make glass-ceramics and discusses the relations among the constitution structure and performance. Its major procession is basic glass design glass melting and converting glass into glass-ceramics. The basic glass batches are designed mainly by the chemical constitution of the tailing then to select different point in CaO-A12O3-SiO2 phase diagram. The experiences have proved the batch SiO2 63.18Wt% A12O3 7.32 Wt% CaO 21.07 Wt% Na2O 7.15 Wt% K2O0.92 Wt% others 0.36 Wt% is better. According to the batch each original ingredient is blended then melted at 1450 in the oven for two hours, Finally the liquid is poured into water to form glass which will be grinded dried and pressed. Utilizing the orthodox methods to decide the heating schedule of the tailing glass-ceramics, the parameter is Tnuucleation855 Tnucleation 3hoursT crystaiiization 920 T crystaliization 2hours. The affection of each heating parameter to performance alteration and microstructure change is investigated by shrinkage gravitation and modern test technique XRD SEM EDAX. The content of Na2O have an important affection on glass-ceramic performance, the content is equal to 3.15Wt%, the color of glass-ceramics become red, and white degree decreases. Equal to 11.15Wt%, the glass-ceramics deforms and physical or chemical performance descends. The content 7.15Wt% is appropriate. Compared to ceramics stone, the glass-ceramic properties are superior to them.This paper has proved development of glass-ceramics utilizing NAN PING Ni-Ta tailing, which has great insignificance in recycling tailing or solid waste and protected the environment and caused great social economical beneficence.
