| By consideration of the traditional manufacturing process and the special resource cases as well as the important joining effect of steelmaking procedure in Pan Zhihua I&S Company, through the analysis on the worldwide developing tendency of iron and steel industry and steelmaking procedure, and associating with the progressing strategy 'Main the plat steel products plus complete continuous casting', the problems existed in steelmaking procedure have been diagnosed in detail so as to increase the core competitive power of steel products manufactured by Pan Zhihua I&S Group Company.Pan Zhihua I&S Company locates in a remote mountainous district and is far away from the main hot markets. This problem decides the steel products must be fixed mainly on high added value grades. Under the limitation of special blast furnace extracting for magnetite iron ore and the inborn shortcoming of process design, the current steelmaking process, with the defects as unstable hot metal, too many productive segments, high energy consumption, heavy pollution, low process controllability, unstable product quality as well as low productive efficiency, is attributed to a out-of date universal traditional process and inadequate to the drastic market competitions.Depending on technological innovation, optimization and renovation of the current steelmaking process are the survival choice of Pan Zhihua I&S Company. In order to reduce the investment risk, plant trails and techno-economic feasibility conformation have been conducted to current desulphurization, slag skimming, de-vanadium as well as terminal point controlling of BOF process. Optimization of desulphurization and slag skimming process was completed by using hot metal ladle grouping to desulphur, revamping the current furnace dissembler into slag skimming machine, replacing the traditional slag scum manner in tundish with slag skimming process. Trail results showed that desulphurization efficiency was increased by 8%, desulphurizer consumption was reduced by 0.8Kg/ton steel, iron loss was decreased by 0.584%, 300 sets of tundishes valuing .2200RMB/set were less used every year. New interests of 7383.62 X 104RMB/year have been increased according to the calculation of hot metal treating amounts 374X 104tons. Utilization of hot metal ladle grouping to realize the one-to-one matching mode of desulphurization-devanadium-steelmaking simplifies the manufacturing process. Through the adjustment of cooling and oxygen supplying system, de-vanadium process was optimized so that the carbon content and temperature of semi-steel as well as the scrap consumption were increased. Research results revealedthat the optimized process can reduce productive cost by 2.535RMB/ton iron, shorten procedure occupied time by 50%, increase the equivalent temperature (physical heat plus chemical heat ) of semi-steel by 40.3C, rise the scrap consumption by 31kg/ton steel, and create an interest of 942.55 X 104RMB/year. On the above basis, analysis and conformation have been put on the technological renovation plans and established the new process system, which characterizes as: ?the huge integrated traditional process, by optimization and techno-revamping, possesses the potentiality to lower cost, manufacture high added value products as high quality heavy rail steel, cold rolling galvanized steel sheet and gas transmitting tube steel etc. (2) Environment pollution can be controlled. Discharging of waste gas and water fit the relative standard, gas and flue dust can be recycled. (3) Complete desulphurization, refining and continuous casting of steel come into realization. (4) Matches among mass flows and procedures get an enough optimization.
