In this paper, linear reactor(LR) open in one direction was assembled under properconditions by using water and PEG with low molecular weight based on the principle" of microemulsions method and template as sisted method. In this reactor, a series ofnano-sized crystals, one-dimension chain structure of [Cu(IDAC) (H20)2. and [Ag(L-Phe) ] were formed through self-assembly with different length and diameter. The length and diameter of the nanorods could be adjusted by changing the molecularweight of PEG and the content of the water in the reactor. The corresponding crystalswere also synthesized for reference. It was showed that the length and the diameter of the nano-sized crystals were influenced by the molecular weight of PEG and the content of the water. The length of the nanorods were increased with increasing molecular weight of PEG, and the diameter of the nanorods were increased with increasing the content of water. The phenomena were interpreted from the view of crystalline structure. The coordination of the metal ions and amino acids were characterized by FT-IR. The composition of both nanorods and corresponding crystals were determined similar by element analysis. The main phase of the nanorods and the crystals were proved similar by XRD. The process of the self-assembly was roughly studied by TEM.Silver(l) complex of polyacrylic acid in nanospheres and nanorods were synthesize. TEM reveals that the complex possessed good dispersibility in the system and the status varied reversibility with the pH value and the size of the complex iswithin 20~40nm. The complex was characterized by FT-IR, UV-Vis, fluoresence and electrical conductivity methods. PAA-Ag nanospheres were also synthesized by coordination of polyacrylic acid and silver(I) ion and queued in line in LR.
