Study On Printability Of Secondary Fiber Newspaper

Secondary fiber is a very important kind of paper making resource because using it has both economic benefit and social benefit, so it is concerned by almost all the world. The possibility to make newspaper by secondary fiber is widely accepted. This thesis mainly discusses the printability of newspaper made by secondary fiber and the influential factors about the printability. The aim is to improve secondary fiber newspaper's performance and expand its using quantity.The qualities, which effect newspaper printability, include basic physical performances, optical performances, mechanical performances, absorbing performances and so on. All these qualities influence printing work and determine the impression of newspaper such as printing through, printing colors etc.Contrasting with other kinds of newspaper, which are in common use, mechanical performances especially surface strength of secondary fiber newspaper are very bad.It is showed by experimental results that: changing the balk by controlling the pressure of calendaring, changing humidity of circumstance, increasing the proportion of original fiber or increasing the using times of fiber have different degree influence to secondary fiber newspaper's surface strength. And adding in some additives and filler can improve the printability of secondary fiber obviously.
