The method of horizontal continuous casting and high precision cold rolling for manufacturing tin-phosphor bronze strip was adopted in China later than abroad, and the quality of our bronze strips was not as good as those made in advanced countries, especially the excessive differences in bending property between in rolling direction and transverse direction, affect its appliance in the end use. The bending property in transverse direction of tin-phosphor bronze strip is a very important quality index which has a great inference on the quality of final products. The measures to improve this property are studied in this thesis. A lot of improvements have been done in the full producing procession including selecting raw materials, melting, casting, annealing and cold rolling, etc. Especially by strictly controlling the sulfur element percentage and gas contents of O2 and H2 in melt as well as cast alloy, selecting suitable route of casting and processing, optimizing variety technical parameters, it has been proved by practice that the bending property of tin-phosphor bronze in transverse direction has been improved remarkably, and the rate of finished products raised by 10 per cent. The relationship among technical parameters has been analyzed and key control points have been determined, a whole set ofpracticable producing technology is achieved.
