The 500.C isothermal section of the phase diagram of Fe-HoSb ternary system has been investigated mainly by X-ray powder diffraction and the Materials Data Jade 5. 0 and Powder Diffraction File (PDF release 2001) for phase analysis. DTA, optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy were used when necessary. The phase diagram consists of 13 single-phase regions, 24 two-phase regions and 12 three-phase regions.The 13 single-phase regions are α(Fe), β(Ho), χ(Sb), δ(Fe17Ho2), ε(FesHo), φ(Fe23Ho6), γ(Fe3Ho), η(Fe2Ho), ι(Ho5Sb3), φ(HoSb), κ(FeSb2), λ fi(FeHo4Sb).The 24 two-phase regions are α+δ, δ+ε, ε+φ, φ+γ, γ+η, η+β,β+ι, ι+φ φ+χ χ+κ κ+λ λ+α μ+λ ι+μ μ+β η+ι γ+ι γ+φ, φ+φ, ε+φ, δ+φ, α+φ.The 12 three-phase regions-are α+β+φ,ε+δ+φ,ε+φ+φ,φ+φ+γ,φ+κ+χ,κ+φ+λ,α+φ+λ,β+ι+μ,β+η+μ,η+μ+ι,γ+η+ι,γ+ι+φ,The existence of 9 binary compounds (Fe17Ho2 Fe5Ho Fe23Ho6 ,Fe3Ho Fe2Ho, Fe2Sb, FeSb, Ho5Sb3, HoSb) has been confirmed, and a new ternary compound (FeHo4Sb) has been found in this paper.The solubility of # solid solution is 2. 39 at. % Sb in the 500.C isothermal section of Fe-Ho-Sb ternary system.
