Oil-tea camellia oil is a kind of excellent cooking oil with health protection. At present the oil is mainly for cooking in our country and it is still a nothingness to refine for cosmetics. This study was conduced to determine technics for degumming, de-acidification, bleaching, deodorization and fractionation, to probe into the possibility of tea oil application in cosmetics, and to set up a set of cosmetics refinement processing technology in order to offer a new way for the oil utilization.The results showed that two sharp peaks appeared at 430nm and 450nm in visible absorption spectrum of the oil, respectively. A linear relationship was found between the absorbing value at 430nm and the value of Lovibond red when oil color was very light, which was: R =1.295 Absλ430nm ~0.247 (R =0.0~1.0). The equation accorded highly with the reality through verification. When the absorbing value was 0.100, the oil was near colorless. So Absλ430nm =0.100 was regarded as the evaluation criterions of color for light-colored oil-tea camellia oil. According to the analysis of the composition of fatty acids, it was difficult to increase the percentage of oleic acid in the oil by the traditional fractionation. However, the 82% of oleic acid withoutfractionation could meet the request of cosmetic oil after the removal of fraction with highermelting point.The optimum refining technics of oil-tea camellia oil for cosmetics were put forward based on orthogonal and uniformity experiments. The operation by mid-temperature hydration degumming was refined at 60℃ for 30min with 5% of water; The conditions by high-temperature light alkali refining were the concentration of NaOH 8癇e, beginning temperature 80℃, final temperature 100℃, rising speed 1℃/min, excess alkali quantity 0.25%, alkali refining for 20min, re-washing by 8-10% of water at 75-85℃, and then drying at 0.1MPa, 90~95℃ for 20min; The technics by normal-pressure adsorption bleaching was to discolor for 15min at 110 ℃ with 6% of active clay; Steaming deodorization under 0.1 MPa was operated by the addition of a little amount of vapors at 140℃, and then the increase of temperature to 240 ℃ for 2h; Traditional fractionation was centrifugalize after frozen for 48h under 3 ℃.After refining, the main indexes of the oil were the content of moisture 0.03%, the content of phosphatide 18.01ppm, the acid value 0.20, the iodine value 78.3, the peroxide value 0, the content of oleic acid 81.90%, colorless and tasteless, and clarifying time more than 200h at 0℃. It was concluded that the parameters of oil-tea camellia oil satisfied the standard of cosmetic oil.
