Decreasing coke consumption and saving energy of BF during iron making process is one of the key projects in the current iron and steel making industry. The ratio of the coke usage and the consumption of the fuel in the BF is one of the most important parameters which represents the technical and economical index lever as well as relate to the sustainable development of the BF for iron making. This thesis deals with the decreasing of coke and energy consumption of the BF of the Jiuquan Iron and Steel Cooperation especially the Nol.BF. According to the coke consumption ratio and conditions of the BF production, with extensive investigation and plant tests, combining with personal experience of operating and managing the BF of the Jiuquan Iron and Steel Coperation, the author has discussed the relationship between the BF operation and technical management with the coke and energy saving systematically. Based on theoretical study and practical operation, by analyzing the collected production data, a comparison study has been made. With progressive trial and optimization, several measurements have been proposed, with which tremendous decreasing of coke and energy has been achieved in the BF of the Jiuquan Iron and Steel Cooperation in the last few years. Therefore, great economic profit has been obtained.
