The flow of the liquid crystal is similar to the behavior of the organic matter of which molecules have the same scale with liquid crystal, but it is more complication in the mechanism of flow. It is coupled between the motion of the translation and the oriented of the molecules. The orient of the director will be affected by the flow of liquid crystal. The director will rotate because of the torque effected on the molecules by the flow. On the contrary, the rotation of director can also bring about the flow of the liquid crystal. This flow followed with the orient of the director is called backflow effect. It is C.Z.van Doom who first explained the " optical bounce " in the twist nematic cell by backflow effect. In this paper, according to the continuum theory of Ericksen-Leslie, we aquire the equation of the motion for the director and the velocity in nematic liquid crystal. We solve the differential equation by means of the numerical analysis with the boundary condition and repeat the work about the transmittance of van Doom with Jones matrix method.Parameter space representation which based on the stationary Jones matrix of liquid crystal is a method that can decide the state of the liquid crystal cell. Through this method, we can analysis the stationary character of the liquid crystal with any twist angle, cell gap, effective optical anisotropy and angle between front director and polarizer. We obtained the optimized parameter of reflective liquid crystal display by means of parameter space representation and got the so called MTN cell. Then, We caculate the dynamic character of the reflective MTN cell with the optimized parameter, give out the distribution of velocity, twist angle and tilt angle at the midle of the MTN cell when switch on or off in consideration of the backflow.
