Synthesis And Research Of Their Properties Of Photochromic Compounds Spiropyrans

The optical information memory principle of photochromic material and the research development are reviewed in the paper. Eight spiropyran monomers and one spiropyran polymer have been synthesized .The structures of the target compounds are as follows : Monomer:The structures of all the compounds are characterized by 1H NMR,IR and Ms. And the photochromic properties such as the absorpting spectra,fatigue resistance, thermal stability, quantium yeild ,etc. are investigated by UV, which shows that spiropyran monomers having hydroxy take on no photochromic properties in ultraviolet while the spiropyran polymer takes on good photochromic properties.
