This article is focused on the technological study of the permanent strong magnetic separation of the fine ore (Granulation Grades from o-15mm) and lumps (granulation Grades from 15-50mm) from JISCO Jingtieshan Mine. Based on this study, an implementation plan and relevant parameters for JISCO's ore pre-separation process is made out thus the smooth industrial implementation is ensured. After carefully clarifying the situation of the progress of ore pre-separation both domestic and abroad recently, especially in the fields of the process, equipment as well as in industrial applications, it is certified that the main problem most of the iron mines is facing is sure the pre-separation of iron ores specifically weak magnetic ones due to the expanding demands on the resource of iron ores with the developing iron and steel industry and the decrease of the easy separate of red ones.Through the study on the nature of JISCO Iron ores, a factor of degree of difficulty and evaluation method of the weak magnetic ore separation is drawn out. With the trial test, a preliminary plan for JISCO ore pre-separation is defined, i.e. φ 100mm roller type permanent magnetic separator for fine ores, while φ 450mm drum type separator for lumps. After detailed test with different parameters and conditions, it is decided that the process flow for JISCO ore pre-separation should be one pre-separation with two further separation through the non-mag. By using this, it is good to obtain better results for fine ores without classifying the granulation grades while for lumps with two (15-30mm, 30-50mm). Stable tests show that for fine ore pre-separation32. 27%the Fe content for raw materials, for pre-separated and 14. 59% for non-mag and the mag is 34.86%,can be obtained. And for lumps, the Fe contentfor raw materials34. 60% for pre-separated and for non-mag16. 17% and for mag 36.86% can be obtained.Through the product analysis and lab test, it is shown that the processing ability of the grinding separation system for JISCO pre-separation project is effectively increased. The Fe content of the final ores is increased by 0.5-1% with the recovery basically unchanged. With the study of the tilting angle of the positioning plate and the revolution of the rollers of the pre-separation equipment, a mathematic model for the tilting angle related with the roller speed is established thus it is a good reference for selecting relevant parameters for such kind. For the successful development of the pre-separation for JISCO ores, it is sure an important significance for pushing domestic ore processing industries to save energy, reduce cost especially for the separation plants with low Fe content and weak magnetic ores to implement such pre-separation technologies.
