Middling from the mineral processing plant is inevitable, the upper content of useful compoment in the middling is hard to separate from by the customary technics. So it is not only reduced the output of target metal, but also enhanced the production cost and reduced the economic benefit. Great deal of middling not only take up land with result in wasting resources, but also bring a serious pollution and endanger to mankind and destroy the ecological balance. Therefore, we should make use of the exsiting manufacture conditions, take the effective technic measures, aim at reclaiming and disposing the middling. As a result, we may settle the standing problems in the production, bring considerable economic benefit for the enterprises, and amend the quality of the mineral environment at the same time. The sample used in this experiment are from LuZhong mining limited company.Magnetic separation is most commonly used to separate magnetic materials from a variety of less-magnetic or nonmagnetic material and classified as either high- or low-intensity. Chemical analyses performed by Shandong experiment center of Geology and mineral department found that Hematite have a large number of component in this sample. Acording to particle size and the solids content of the tailing, firstly we choosed low-intensity separation and the iron percentage was 62% in fine materials and production rate was about 10%. In succession the tailings from low-intensity separation was separated through high-intensity, the iron percentage and production rate was 46% and 60% respectively. This part of fine was separated again to raise ore mineral further through gravitational separation. Finally comprehensive process was carried on to choose the best craft for actual production. In a word, the experiment obtained a expectable request, not only gain high output of fine that created a certain economic performance, but also afford experience to other mineral factories in processing iron tailings.
