Nine rolls with different composition are designed in this paper. Four kinds of heattreatment technics are made to each roll. The solidification process are confirmed according to the phase diagrams of pseudo-binary (Fe-5Cr-5Mo-5W-2C)-V and (Fe- 5Cr- 5Mo- 5W-3-4V)-C alloy system and the projected diagram of liquids surfaces of Fe - 5Cr- 5Mo -5W -V -C. Phase composition and microstructure in nine high-speed-steel rolls used in hot rolling are investigated in detail by means of scanning electron microscope, X-ray diffraction and EDS. The effects of composition variety and heat treatment on microstructure and hardness are analyzed. Reasonable heat treatment technics and composition ratio are acquired.
