Snap bean(Phaseolus vulgaris L.) was used to study the storage quality and physiological changes. and to discuss the effects of spot and decay of snap bean from maturity, temperature, variety, different handle of post-harvest and air environment throughout storage period. The best condition of storage and safe time limit were concluded. 'ZiHua' snap bean of middle maturity during storage at 9 1 shows good results.TKD treatment of 20g/m3 can effectually decrease the occurrence of decay, put off the respiration peak and restrain the decline of quality of snap bean. 6-BA treatment and GA3 treatment can delay the descent of content of Vc, chlorophyll, soluble protein and the rise of coarse fibre of snap bean. The POD activity and respiratory rate of snap beans treated by 6-BA and GAa were significantly reduced and at last reached the purpose of the delaying of spot and decay. Snap bean of TKD(20g/m3) +6-BA(20mg/ L)+ CA(O22~5%, CO22~5%)storage shows best result The rust spot, putrefied ratio and sellable ratio respectively for 14.2%, 8.8% and 88.2% after 45 days storage. The rust spot, putrefied ratio and sellable ratio respectively for 26.6%, 13.5% and 81 .3% after 55 days storage, 45~55 days of safe time limit is suitable for storage.
