In this paper, the modification of the polypropylene was studied, and the capability index of the modified PP was found to meet the material's weatherproof need.Through researching and contrasting EPF30R and PPBC3B, their thermodynamical and rheological property were discussed, meanwhile their different structures were analyzed by FIR. The effects of elastomer, nucleator , inorganic rigid particles, anti-oxidizer, and the ultraviolet light stabilizers on various compounds of the EPF30R were explicated. The samples of different components were placed under the ultraviolet radiation to testify their anti-aging properties. A series of advanced instruments, such as FIR, SEM, DSC, and Polarization microscope were used to analyze the samples' microstructure.In this experiment, it showed that the rigidity and tenacity of EPF30R were not sufficient to meet the weatherproof need of the composite. Together with nucleator and inorganic rigid particles, POE was found to improve the material's strength and toughness remarkably. The optimum dosage of POE was 5-10%. The synergistic effect of the ultraviolet absorber and the radical scavenger could improve the material's anti-aging property. The optimum dosage of the ultraviolet stabilizer was 0.3-0.4%. It also showed in the experiment that the microfine inorganic rigid particles could improve the material's strength and toughness at the same time, which applied an effective method to improve the above two properties simultaneously.It showed from the FIR diagram that EPF30R and the imported PP had different leading aging mechanism. From the analysis of the microstructure of the modified EPF30R, it indicated that the crystallinity, crystalline size, and the dimension of the filler particles of.the PPBC3B were all inferior to the EPF30R's, which also verified the effect of the nucleator-DICPK.
