This paper adopts cornstarch as raw materials to prepare high performance natural adhesive. Because of the limitation of general natural adhesive that its water-resistant is badly, the research tries to improve the water endurance bonding strength of natural adhesive by a series of chemic advance property means, which include oxidation treatment, grafting alkene high polymer and add crosslink agent in order to reduce the amount of hydroxyl and introduce other active bases. The result shows that the high performance natural adhesive reach the require of class 2 application of glue. The paper also summarizes the preparation chemical reaction mechanism of the natural adhesive of high performance, which can offer the theoretical direction for production practices.The orthogonal experimental program is used mainly in this paper. According to the class 2 water endurance bonding strength index of the plywood which is adhered by the very cornstarch glue, the best prepare technics of high performance natural adhesive is obtained firstly through observing the influence factors such as oxidant, emulsifier, grafting agent and crosslink agent. The best solidification terms of this glue is confirmed secondly through observing influence factors such as hot pressing temperature, time and pressure. In addition, the result of the orthogonal experiment is test and consummate by supplementary. Finally, adopt infrared spectrum analytic instrument to analyse the chemical mechanism of the cornstarch glue.Result of study indicate that high performance natural adhesive have no dissociate formaldehyde release, it is nonpoisonous and environmental protection. Its leading indicators such as connect performance and price are equal to the ones of urea aldehyde resin glue that uses extensively at present. It can meet well the existing wood-based plate production technology. With technics of prepare glue, the oxidant and crosslink agent have remarkable influence to the water endurance bonding strength. With craft of the pressing plate, hot pressing temperature and pressure have conspicuity effects on veneer performance. The main craft parameter is: cornstarch account for main pharmaceutical 25% of weight, oxidant quantity equal to 35% of starch weight, crosslink agent quantity is about 10% weight of main pharmaceutical, the best hot pressing technics is hot pressing temperature 120℃, unit pressure 1.0 MPa, hot pressing time 0.7min/mm.
