Studies On The Synthesis And Characterization And Properties Of Poly (Phenyene Sulfide Sulfone)

Poly(Phenylene sulfide sulfone) (PPSS) is a high performance polymer, which is an amorphous polymer with a Tg =215℃. PPSS have superior performance, such as high thermal, chemical, and environmental stabilities, toughness and excellent electrical proprieties.Research is being focused on the preparation of high molecular weight PPSS. We have prepared PPSS without pressurizing, obtaining the viscosity of 0.421 dl/g. And the chain and aggregative structure of PPSS were characterized by FT-IR spectrum, UV spectrum, Raman spectrum, (1)~H-NMR spectrum, X-ray diffraction and SALS spectrum. Physical and mechanical properties were measured including solubility, melt flow rate and thermal properties. The result introduced PPSS have very good fire and chemical resistance. And the miscibility and thermal stability of the blends of PPSS were studied.
