Supercritical fluid extraction is a newly developed chemical separation technology using the special high resolving capacity over critical pressure and critical temperature. It combines both extraction and separation. High efficiency is obtained by simple process, which is easily under control. So it has been wildly used in the extraction of pure raw products, temperature-sensitive materials and Chinese traditional medicine.The key point of industrial use for supercritical fluid extraction is equipment. Supercritical high-pressure equipment is frequently switched and the operating pressure is high. Design experience and effective method is insufficient and seal component can't be used repetitively, which restrict industrial development. By studying quick-opening structures for supercritical fluid high-pressure extraction equipment, seal structure and material are changed and a structure is put forward——non-wedging quick-opening clamping band seal structure, which is composed of top cap, cylinder end, C seal gasket and clamping bands.Based on Japanese industrial association standard JIS B 8284-1993 and Chinese professional standard HG 20582-1998, the theory design method and formulas of this structure are put forward. By this method, a 5L high-pressure extraction kettle is designed.The structure intensity and contact behavior of quick-opening clamping band seal structure for the 5L extraction kettle is analyzed by finite-element (ANSYS) software. It is verified that the structure is safe and the seal performance is good. By observing the behavior of seal performance and the effect of quick-opening by hydrostatic experiment to the 5L extraction kettle, it is discovered that quick-opening is convenient, seal performance is good, C seal gasket can be used repetitively under 52MPa.By those studies, it is showing that the performance of this quick-opening clamping band seal structure is good, the equipment satisfies the design requirementand has good industrial utility prospect.
