| Fe2O3 is used as active compound in monolith catalyst for the combustion of methane. Two kinds of catalytic supports (oxygen ion conduction material and oxygen storage material) have been studied. Different reaction factors greatly affect the catalytic activity. The results of XPS and TPR have revealed the reasons for different activity of fresh and aged catalysts.Catalysts for methane combustion are prepared by Fe2O3 supported on r-Al2O3,ZrO2-Al2O3,YSZ( Yttria stabilize Zirconia) -A12O3, respectively. Among the three kinds of catalysts Fe2O3 /YSZ-Al2O3 has showed the highest activity and best thermal stability. The XPS result demonstrats that the addition of ZrO2 and Y2O3 can increase and stabilize the surface concentration of Fe2O3 and decrease the interaction between iron species and r-Al2O3 support.Oxygen storage material (CeO2-ZrO2) is used as support. It is doped with E and M. The catalytic activity of addition of E and M in support together is better than addition the tow elements respectively. Addition of E can decrease the interaction of M and Fe2O3. The different valence of M is the key factor of improving catalytic activity.These two kinds of methane combustion catalysts show the best active at following reaction factors. Space velocity is 60, 000h-1. Ration of CH4 and O2 is 1:4. Quantity of balance gas(N2) is 60%. |
