As a special welding technology, explosive welding with unique advantage is applied widely to national defense and civil industry, and has great developing potency. This papers using experiment and theory studies and discusses dose of explosive welding, microstructure of interface wave and mechanical properties relation of explosive clad plates.By scanning electron microscopy observing and analyzing interface form and metallographic structure changing situation of copper-aluminum-steel clad plates, the conclusion is interface wave length and height, melted layer and inclusion increasing with explosive charge increasing.With experiments of tensile resistance, shearing resistance, hardness test and analyzing mechanical properties of explosive of explosive clad plates and clad interface in different explosive charge condition, the conclusion is that shock hardening exits in explosive welding and flyer plate mechanical parameter has low sensitivity for explosive charge in fixed scope.The experimental formula of explosive welding parameter is modified by experimental result, and is applied to explosive welding engineering of oil film bearing mill liners in Hot Strip Mill WISCO. This formula guides the parameter selection of copper-steel welding, assures welding quality of the clad plates, bring out good effect.
