On the basis of influent assay and the systematic analysis of the existing acrylic fiber wastewater treatment facilities, the status of the influent, especially its biodegradability, was verified. Effects of temperature, dissolved oxygen, sludge concentration and hydraulic retention time on the biological system were studied. Effect of the sharp change of the influent quality on the system was also studied. Based on the discussion of the mechanism of the alternative techniques for the transformation of the system, a feasible scheme was put forward which would improve the stability of operation and qualify the effluent of the system.
