Speciation analysis of trace elements is new subject. In the first part of this dissertation, the recent development of the field in domestic and abroad, the extraction, separation of trace elements and different kinds of earlier researchers were reviewed. 44 references were cited. On the basis of earlier researchers , we have made the following improvement. In the second part, the the contents of 12 elements in Shao Fu Zhu Yu Tang, a prescription of Chinese traditional medicine, was determined. A prescription of Shao Fu ZhuYu Tang were made from 10 kinds of Chinese traditional medicine ,and the 12 elements in the prescription have a similar distribution to that of 10 kinds of medicine, but the concentration is different. The results showed that some element Speciation changed because of the interaction of all constituents in the decoction of prescription. In the third part, the speciation analysis of trace elements including Copper, Manganese, Iron, and Zinc in oral liquid was studied. The three speciation including the dissolved, soluble inorganic and organic of Cu, Zn, Fe, Mn were separated by 0. 45μm membrane filter and LSA-10 adsorptive resin. Their concentrations were determined by flame atomic absorption spectrometry. In the fourth part, a rapid and less cost method for metal ion speciation analysis for Cu (Ⅱ) Zn (Ⅱ), Co (Ⅱ), Ni (Ⅱ), Pb (Ⅱ), Cd (Ⅱ) by chitosan combined with flame atomic absorption spectrometry has been developed. It was based on the adsorption which occurred through a chelating reaction between metal ions and - NH2 on the surface of chitosan. The best separation condition was selected. It has high sensitivity and high selectivity. The method has been applied to the determination of Cu (Ⅱ), Zn (Ⅱ), Co (Ⅱ), Ni (Ⅱ), Pb (Ⅱ),Cd (Ⅱ) in natural water samples and waster water samples with satisfactory results. In the fifth part, A new method for the determination of trace silver (I) by enriching of the chitosan and flame atomic absorption spectrometry has been developed. The conditions that influence the adsorption of silver by chitosan were studied. The method has been applied to the determination of Ag( I) in the waste water sample. At the end of this dissertation, the active aluminum species leached from red kaoline that was a kind of Chinese traditional medicine by four chemical extraction solutions were studied. There are potassium chloride, ammonium acetate, hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide solutions. According to the different mechanisms of leaching, barrios chemical species of aluminum were obtained. The leaching aluminum species were determined, and the percentage of distribution of the active aluminum species from Chinese traditional medicine was calculated.
