In this article, extractive solvent systems were treated in the magnetic field on the basis of the theory of the magnetic field and the extraction of effective constituents in the Chinese herbal medicine. Different solvent systems that had been treated in the magnetic field have special properties, they have changed their physical and chemical characteristics, decreased their linkage. Thus the large molecule group has been split into small molecule groups, even single molecules. So the water molecules or other solvent molecules can easily go into the intra-cell of Sophora flavescens, and the extractive speed and the ratio of matrine and oxymatrine can be improved. In the conditions of the same magnetic induction intensity, the effects of different extractive solvent and their concentrations on the extractive and separate efficiency are studied in this article. In the conditions of the same extractive solvent and the concentration of the solvent, the effects of magnetic induction intensity on the extractive and separate efficiency are also studied. Then, the optimal experimental conditions that A3B3C3 with ethanol extraction and A3B2C2 with hydrochloric acid extraction have been investigated on the basis of the theory of orthogonal test. The result has showed that this method is beneficial to increase the extractive ratio of matrine and oxymatrine. The content of matrine and oxymatrine was determined by both high performance liquid chromatography and titration with the standard acid and alkaline. The results have showed that the purity of the products was more than 95%. General mechanism that the alkaloids were extracted from Sophora flavescens has been preliminary established with the theory of magnetization and the experimental results. The extractive methods of matrine and oxymatrine from Sophora flavescens were studied with the characteristic of magnetized solvents. The new methods have got some advantages: small amount solvent is used, small energy consumed and friendly to the environment. The experimental results have showed that the magnetized solvents are beneficial to the extractive ratio of the total alkaloids, matrine or oxymatrine. So the extractive technology that the theory of magnetic field is applied to Chinese herbal medicine, has of academic significance and applied value.
