Fenton reagent was produced by electrochemistry in this thesis. The mechanism of electro-generated Fenton reagent was studied in detail. The influence of experimental condition on output of H2O2 and Fe2+ was reviewed, and the optimize framework of electrolysis cell was gained.Washing, hydroxybenzene and dyeing wastewater were treated by electro-generated Fenton reagent. The experimental results were gained by the change of IR, UV-Vis and CODCr in the treatment process. Electro-generated Fenton reagent was valuable for degradating most of organic contamination in the wastewater at a certain condition. The CODcr removal rate and decolourization rate were about 80% and 95%, respectively. The kinetics of the contamination degradation for phenol and dyes were investigated, which were obeyed first order reaction model, and rate constants were confirmed. Finally, the industrial printing and dyeing wastewater was chosen for a demonstration of degradation by electro-generated Fenton reagent in the dyeing plant. The result indicated that this method provides a simple, rapid and powerful tool for wastewater treatment. In the summary, a novel and convenient method has been established for treating organic wastewater by electrochemical process.
