Long chain monoalkyl dimethyl tertiary amine, as an important material of surfactant, is widely used in textile industry, petroleum, cosmetic, and other daily chemicals and etc., and cannot be substituted by other chemicals. According to the Company development requirements, we collected a lot of documentations issued at home and abroad. Based on that, long chain monoalkyl dimethyl tertiary amine production process by animating fatty alcohol under atmospheric pressure is developed by us. This process has characteristics of short process route, single material, lower investment, almost free of "three wastes" (waste gas, waste liquid and waste material), good quality product and high economic recovery. The key point of this process is "catalyst preparation technology".Solid clad metal catalyst is chosen for common axe mixer, which determined by the Company. Tested by using coprecipitation method, we determined the process formulation of catalyst, solution concentration, precipitating temperature, PH value at precipitation, feeding sequence, aging time, scrubbing temperature and time, drying and roasting temperature and time, i.e.l)Cu: Zn: Ni: Mg = 21: 8: 1.5: 1 (wt)2)Nitrate solution concentration: 15%-20%3)Sodium carbonate: as precipitating agent, concentration is 10%-15%4)Light calcium carbonate: as carrier, first prepare 15% of solid-liquid suspension at Ca:Mg = 20:l(wt)5)Coprecipitating and scrubbing temperature: 45 -50 ,PH value at precipitation: 8-96)Drying temperature: 110TM50 ,Drying time: 10 h -15h7)Roasting temperature: 380 -400 ,Roasting time: 18 h -20hAn industrialized production unit of 2000t/a long chain mono alkyl dimethyl tertiary amine and supported 45Kg/d catalyst production unit have been constructed. Both units could have long and stable operation and have "three wastes" discharge value and noise level within the National standard. The catalyst can be used repeatly owed to its good performance. Long chain monoalkyl dimethyl tertiary amine, with content of 98.5%, can fully satisfy requirements of various customers.
