The electrochemical properties of the flavonoids such as Complanatuside,Silimarin,Puerarin,BaicaIin and Rutin have been studied with the method of differential pulse voltammetry in this paper.The results showed that the electrochemical reduction activity of those flavonoids were quite good but there were some difference between them.The height of main reduction peak of every compounds linearly responded to the concentration respectively.On this basis, the responds of every component in flavonoids mixtures could be obtained,and the height of reduction peak linearly responded to the concentration.When the composition was fixed,the chart of differential pulse voltammetry was characteristic and relatively stable,which satisfied the basic demands as fingerprint.To combine chemometrics with differential pulse voltammetry anticipatively provide a new way for the study of fingerprint,which is realizable,easy to operate and quick.Differential pulse voltammetry was used to determine flavonoids in Astragalus complanatus' extracts. This method is convenient,rapid and accurate.It can be used for quality control in Astragalus complanatus .
