With the increasing improvement of environment consciousness and the quality requirement, producing the clean and good-performance reactive dyes has become the emphasis of its research. The theme of the present research is how to apply the modern technology, how to improve the design of molecules, how to synthesize the new color body, the reactive group and connective group, how to compound rationally the structure, such as reactive group, and how to develop the new dyes with two reactive groups and more reactive groups. Some fundamental research has been done to select the reactive yellow M-3RE in the paper.A set of apparatus of synthesizing M-3RE was designed. By diazotization, coupling, first-condensation, second-condensation, the reactive yellow M-3RE could be synthesized. A set of apparatus of analyzing chemically coupling compound was established. Through designing the orthogonal test and analyzing the coupling compound, the synthetic influence factors of diazotization and coupling to the technology had been analyzed. The best synthesis conditions of diazotization and coupling provided basic data for the optimum research of the technology and its yield can attain 94. 87%. Applying thin-layer chromatogram could detect the terminal point of the condensed reaction. The solution system was n-propyl alcohol: acetic ether: water(15:20:15). It could preferably separate the reaction compound. The paper adopted the spectrophotometric method to determine the intensity of M-3RE and compared the result with datacolor plus. The result indicated that it had certain reference value.The paper introduced CIELAB chroma space concept, and analyzed other factors that influence the production of M-3RE by means of building chroma space coordinate value. The above-mentioned analysis result providedbasic data for the optimum condition of producing the reactive yellow M-3RE dye.The experiment showed that it was feasible to research the technology using p-ester instead of m-ester, and the latter was a little better than the former in performance. The reason why p-ester was adopted instead of m-ester was that the cost of m-ester was more than p-ester, so that some factories had produced the dye using p-ester instead of m-ester.Also the experiment got the optimum condition in virtue of orthogonal test and CIELAB chroma space coordinate, and the produced dye met the international 4~5 level standard in both color and tensity. Its color value was less than 0. 8 and its tensity value was more than 100.In a word, the paper found the optimum condition, causing the product to attain the international standard. The effecting groups analysis provided the consulting opinion for synthesizing new type active dyes.
