With rapidly economic development, people's demand of water resources is on the increase in the plain river network. Therefore water quantity decreases continually and water quality worsens endlessly. So the ecosystem of the plain river network has been destroyed, which influences people's life and blocks the continually economic development in the region. The research of eco-environment water demand in different hydrological year is meaningful to improve ecosystem and promote economic development in the plain river network.The paper takes the zone of Taicang as research object. On the base of actual water ecosystem, hydrological condition and the result of evaluating present eco-environment, we can understand that ecosystem of the region is destroyed seriously because of water gravely polluted by large of number of oxygen consuming organics. Due to the polluted water seriously destroying the ecosystem of the region, above all , 1-D hydraulic and water quality model is established. On the basis of investigation of present situation and present water environmental quality, eco-environment function-Method is used to assess the eco-environment water demand and it is validated by water quantity method. Thus eco-environment water demand is satisfied both in water quality and water quantity.
