Nowadays, many researchers in the field of energy-saving building materials are engaged in the study of insulating materials both at home and abroad. The pasty building insulating material is an important part of the building insulating materials, because of its convenient construction ,good affinity and low costing. This paper aims at developing the environment-protecting and energy-saving insulating materials by utilizing the superiority of polystyrene in insulation to overcome the disadvantage of traditional insulating materials in the study. Several problems are solved. Firstly, the surface characteristic of polystyrene particle is changed from water detesting to water intimity by using special techniques and admixtures so mat the compound quality with inorganic materials is insured. Secondly, the contradiction between the weight and strength is solved through optimizing the particle size and using composite fiber and the best heat conductivity is achieved under the condition that the necessary strength is met. In the research process ,the author solved the problem of fiber dispersing in insulating materials so that the contraction of the material is controlled. Finally, better working quality of insulating materials is achieved to meet the need of construction by choosing better composite fiber, cement and appropriate mix proportion. The utilization of the environment-protecting and energy-saving insulating materials to the sustaining use of resources and promotes the protection of the environmentThe environment-protecting and energy-saving insulating materials is consistent with the situation of our country and the achievement of the study on this material is of great significance.
