Research On New Optical Limiting Material

Four kinds of optical limiter had been researched including suspending inorganic particles, semiconductor/electrochromic polymer multiplayer device, porphyran. We found that porphyran is a kind of good material for optical limiter. But to date no materials have exhibited strong enough nonlinear response to protect sensitive optical elements from laser-induced damage., we researched the Graded Density Limiter and Tandem limiter. By theory analyzing and numerical computing, we made two kinds of Tandem Limiter. We found tandem limiter is a good way to increase nonlinear response.
