Researching fly ash is a comprehensive and borderline scientific subject. Developing its technology depends on the latest evolution of other subjects. If we can put it to rational use, we can not only abate the environment problems caused by fly ash but also use it as a new resource to develop many practical products. For a long time our country has thought much of comprehensive utilization of fly ash and made great achievements in its technology and application. We should focus on the organic combination of improving the economic benefits of comprehensive utilization of fly ash and social benefits. Carbide slag is from producing acetylene, polyvinyl fluoride and polyvinyl alcohol, and it can be up to about 2 million tons every year. With the increasing in the needs of acetylene in our country, carbide slag will greatly increase, so exploiting the comprehensive utilization of carbide slag is important for improving the environment and the economic benefits. Based on this goal, this research focuses on the utilization of carbide slag to produce more active and modified fly ash, and it will bring both social and economic benefits and make effective use of two castoffs.This essay suggests that the character of the fly ash with high carbon content wet exhausted will be improved by using the. It analyzes the characteristic of the fly ash, the situation of its usage at present and the problems existed during the comprehensive utilization of carbide slag and the fly ash with high calcium content wet exhausted. For producing the more active modified fly ash, the proportion tests are carried out in the laboratory by selecting different proportion schemes, through the burning tests, the best proportion scheme is determined among them. At the same time, the best burning temperature is alsodetermined by burning at different temperatures. Under the guidance of datum obtained at the laboratory, the test production is proceeded. The technological parameters are adjusted according to the actual production conditions for producing the more active modified fly ash. The test for producing the more active modified fly ash. The test for producing the clinker is carried out by using the more active modified fly ash instead of the clay. For guiding the cement production, the effect on the character of cement is carried out of the more active modified fly ash used as additive of cement. The concrete character tests are also carried out by using the cement in which the more active modified fly ash is used as additive of cement. The strength, resistance to freezing, impermeability etc. are measured. Using modified fly ash as masonry cement has been studied. The results of the study show that the strength of clinker can reach above 62.5 Mpa by using the modified fly ash as clayey material to manufacture clinker, the requirments of 42.5R grade pozzuolana cement can be reached by adding 25% modified fly ash in the cement grinding. The modified fly ash can be used as pozzuolanice addition, the activity is obviously improved after the fly ash is modified. This modified fly ash can satisfy the requirements of producing masonry cement. The activity of the modified fly ash is better than the unmodified fly ash, the grade 225 masonry cement can be produced even with the addition of 80% modified fly ash, the quantity of clinker can be greatly reduced in the production of masonry cement.
