Francois' Langur is the endangered and protected species around the world and China. They were found in the Furong river valley which river is the bourdary of Chongqing Wulong country and Guizhou Pengshui country. The distribution region is the north boundary in china and their numbers are small.People activities disturb the habitat of Francois' Langur for a long time. And now Francois' Langur habitat is under threaten because of the beauty spot establishment and Jiangkou reservoir construction. The reservoir construction results in the water level rise to submerge mass research area. This paper provides quantitative analysis basis for restoration and rehabilitation of this region. Using 3S technology, combining with the interpretation of Remote Sensing images, DEM and field survey on the spots, the author did a habitat evaluation on the region.Base on the data investigated from the field, the author analysis the relation between bio-diversity and the distribution of Francois' Langur and then have a conclusion that Francois' Langur are likely living in the place of higher bio-diversity.Compare the potential habitat and the real distribution habitat, result shows that the area of real distribution region is only 1/4 of the whole potential habitat region.Under the support of ARC/INFO software, the author analysis variationon the spatial distribution pattern of landscape elements. Select some kinds of landscape pattern diversity index, the result showed that the landscape diversity and evenness indices decrease while the dominance index increased over the study area after submerged.Divided the eco-environment into 5 levels. Following analysis shows us the most suitable habitat area is very small because of rigorous natural conditions and human interferences. Simulate different water submerge level conditions showed that most suitable habitat loss rates after reservoir construction are much higher then other levels. Area loss percentage of most suitable habitat is the greatest. When water level arrives 300m, area of most suitable habitat will loss 1/3. When water level arrive 320m only 1/3 of most suitable habitat will remain. Compared the eco-environment between Wulong Bank and Pengshui Bank, we found that the eco-environment of the Pengshui bank was better than that of the Wuling bank not only in quantity but also in quality, which partly explained why there are no Francois' Langur in Wulong bank.Based on the quantity analysis of the habitats among three groups of Francois' Langur in the research area, we concluded that the habitat of group A was the best both before and after being flooded, while the habitat of group C was effected the most and that of group B was in the middle. When the water level was higher than 310 meters, the most suitable habitat of group C would disappear, which might be a fatal impact on the Francois' Langur of this group. On the basis of biomass research, the author find the most suitable habitat have the highest unit biomass while the biomass of highly suitable habitat is lower than the suitable habitat. Combining with area, the loss percentage of most suitable habitat is biggest. On the base of above research, the author predicts suitable number of Francois' Langur is about 80-90. At last the author gives some suggestions on Francois' Langur habitat protection of this region based on the analysis. We should reduce the interrupt of the habitat, protect the patches and enforce the regulations and strenghen the education.
