As environmental pollution and resource crisis was more and more concerned by all the world, the renewable and degradable natural polymer become more and more important to mankind. Lignin, whose reserves in the world is next to cellulose. And it regenerates at the speed of 50 billion tons every year. Meantime lignin as a by-product of pulp and paper industry was produced about 50 million tons every year. Most of which were not utilized high-efficiently. So, it is very important to make polymers utilizing lignin taking place of the product of petroleum industry as materials in theoretically and practically. In order to improve copolymerization ability of lignosulfonate, maleic anhydride and acryloyl chloride were chosen to esterified with lignosulfonate. The maleic anhydride modified lignosulfonate condition was studied by three levels and three factors othrogonal experiment, The optimum experimental condition was obtained, its reaction temperature is 165, its ratio of maleic to ligosulfonate is 23:100 and its reaction times are 10mins. After modified its dosage of double reached 3.3mmol/g; In addition, acryloyl chloride modified lignosulfonate was also studied, After modified its dosage of double reached 4.0mmol/g, and it have other merits such as low reaction temperature and reaction quickly, Avoided destroy the molecular structure of the lignosulfonate by high temperature. In all, its modified result was better than maleic anhydride.Modified lignosulfonate/acrylate emulsion was prepared by emulsion copolymerization technology using LS, maleic anhydride modified LS, acryoyl modified LS as material and AA,MMA,BA as graft monmers. When use unmodified lignosulfonates graft copolymerization with acrylate, lignosulfonate conversion percent only reaches 20% - 25% and its graft efficiency only reach 26.3% under the 1:5 and 1:4 ratio; When use modified lignosulfonate graft copolymerizaion with acrylate under the same ratio, lignosulfonate conversion percent could reach 60-80% and its graft efficiency could reach 72.6%.The polymer which prepared from acryloyl modified LS, maleic anhydride modified LS and LS were characterized by strain-stress experiments, it result that acryloyl modified LS was superior to maleic modified LS, and maleic anhydride modified LS was greater than LS. The polymer also detected by DSC, DSC confirm the results too. The emulsion was detected by TEM, it manifested the diameter of polymer particles from acryloyl modified LS was bigger than form maleic anhydride modified LS.The glued intensity of all the adhesives from LS and modified LS was lower than the ones that have not modified, but the glued intensity of modified LS adhesive was Slightly lower than black, so, satisfied adhesive could be prepared from acryloyl or maleic anhydride modified LS and graft monomers.
