Recently, it was discovered that the abundant metabolites and secondary metabolites are contained in the marine organisms, such as Sponge. These compounds which have novel structure, have already turned out to be effective in anticancer, antivirus, diminishing inflammation and the human cardiovascular disease, and may become as abundant resources of new medicines. Today there is no research on chemical composition of marine organisms, such as sponge, etc. in GuangXi. The purpose of this thesis is to research on the chemical compositions and their anticancer activities about the sponge from Beihai in Guangxi, and determine their chemical structures. It will offer reference value for further developing the marine medicines and natural health products.Eight marine sponges were researched on the chemical compositions in this thesis. According to the result of anticancer activities testing, we mainly studied on the chemical compositions of Ircinia fusca Carter, 1880. we separated 39 compounds from these marine sponges in all by CC, TLC, GC/MS, then analysised and identified 30 compounds structures by GC FAB-MS, EI-MS, ESI-MS, IR, NMR(1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, DEPT, 1H-COSY, HMQC and HMBC including) , and three of them are new compounds that have not been reported.Firstly we researched on the Steroids of seven kinds of sponges which belong to Callyspongia sp. (A), Callyspongia sp. (B), Pachychalina sp., Pachychalina punctata Ridley & Dendy, Hippospongia reticulata (Lendenfeld), and two new marine sponges. Fourteen steroid compounds were separated and identified as Cholest-5-en-3,20-diol; Cholestane-3,5-diol; Cholesta-5,7-dien-3-ol; Ergosta-5,22-dien-3 P -ol; Cholest-5-en -24-one-3 P -ol; Stigmasta-5,22-dien-3 P -ol; P -sitosterol; Cholesta-5,17(20)-dien3 P -ol; Cholest; Ergosta-5,24-dien-3 P -ol; Cholesta-5, 22-dien-3 P -ol; Ergost-5-en-3-ol; Cholestane-3, 13- diol; Cholesta-5,17(20)-dien-3 P ,5 a -diol.In the thesis, we spent most of time in studying on chemical compositions of Ircinia fusca Carter, 1880. . Firstly we divided the ethanol extract of the sponge into four different polarity parts, and they are the extract of petroleum ether, the extract of ethyl acetate, the extract of n-butanol and the extract of water. Then we separated the compounds from the above four extracts by CC and TLC etc., Finally we determined the structure of single compounds by IR, MS, UV, NMR and ultimate analysis.We got twenty-nine compounds in all from Ircinia fusca Carter, 1880., and eighteen of them are single compounds.1 Compounds from the extract of petroleum ether of Ircinia fusca Carter, 1880.Thirteen compounds were got from the extract of petroleum ether ofIrcinia fusca Carter, 1880. Four of them belong to long carbon chain compounds, and they are Hexadecanamide, 9-Octadecenamide, Tetradecanamide and Docosanoic acid. Seven of them are Steroids, and they are Cholesta-5,24-dien-3-ol, Cholesterol, Ergosta-5,22-dien-3 -ol, Gorgost-5-en-3 -ol, Ergost-5-en-3-ol, Stigmasterol, Y -Sitosterol. And two (S-30 and S-50) are single compounds, and their structures are basically determined.2 Compounds from the extract of ethyl acetate of Ircinia fusca Carter, 1880.Five single compounds were got from the extract of ethyl acetate of Ircinia fusca Carter, 1880. They are identified as uracil, thymine, xanthine, hypoxanthine, and the compound of Y-30 has not been determined. Uracil, thymine, xanthine, and hypoxanthine are first separated from sponges of the genus Ircinia.3 Compounds from the extract of n-butanol of Ircinia fusca Carter, 1880.Four single compounds were got from the extract of n-butanol of Ircinia fusca Carter, 1880. . They are the compounds of Z-20-8, Z-20-10, Z-40 and Z-60. The compounds of Z-20-8 and Z-40 have been identified.4 Compounds from the extract of water of Ircinia fusca Carter, 1880.Seven single compounds were got from the extract of water of Ircinia fusca Carter, 1880..They are W-50-20-18, W-50-20-25, W-50-40-7,W-50-40-14, W-50-9, W-80-2 and W-80-60-5.
