With the development of modern agriculture and improvement of seed selection and planting technology, the product of sugar cane, which abounds in subtropical zone, is increasing year after year. The increase of raw materials means that sugar mills need expand workshops and buy equipments so as to improve the throughput as well as enhance the management of raw materials. In this paper it is discussed whether sugar mills can economize and reduce invest more effectively, improve the use rates of equipments, increase the product of sugar and gain more economical benefit by means of storing a portion of syrup and A-molasses.According to the food preservation theories, the changes of cane syrup and A-molasses during storage are studied and the feasibility of storing cane syrup and A-molasses in subtropical zone is discussed in this paper. The experiment results show that thickness and temperature are the two important factors that influence the storage of cane syrup and A-molasses, and the speed of the deteriorate of cane syrup and A-molasses can be slowed down in virtue of adding proper preservatives and microbicides. The conclusions are that it isdifficult to store cane syrup and it is feasible to store A-molasses in subtropical zone.As for subtropical cane sugar industry, the method of storing a portion of A-molasses can be applied widely as long as resources are well organized. On the one hand, it can effectively resolve the seasonal contradiction between raw materials and production, and increase the productive agility of sugar mills as a result. On the other hand, sugar mills can rehandle and process the stored A-molasses to produce crude sugar and improve the competitive ability in market.
