The subject in this paper has great social and economical benefits.Drilling instruments are the key applications to monitor, analyze and decide the drilling process. The scientific principals of "safe, optimized and balanced drilling" and the customs' higher requisitions for drilling instruments accelerate the development of drilling instruments; and the electronic technique, computer and communication revolutions make the development possible. These days, the drilling instruments are changing from mechanical, hydraulic meters to digital, integrated, intelligent and networklized ones.In this paper, the author, aiming at the problems in drilling instruments at home and abroad, referencing the advanced techniques, discusses the measuring methods and mathematic model, and develops a drilling monitoring system with high precision, complete function, beautiful and friendly interface is developed. To ensure the safe and reliability of data, the system adopts the structure of server/DAQ data source; to improve the real-time ability, the system uses multi-linearity technique; to enhance the reliability, the system uses fieldbus.The system has passed the appraisal in petroleum industry. It has a good effect in real working and has a bright future.
