The dissertation includes two parts of work, in the first part, the graft copolymer onto starch-St-g-PDM and St-g-PDM ?HC1 were synthesized using eerie ammonium nitrate (CAN ) or potassium persulfate (KPS ) as initiator. The regularities of graft copolymerization and their performance for flocculation was investigated; and in the second part, the starch grafting polyvinylamineC St-g-PVAm ) was synthesized by means of Hofmann degradation and the performance for flocculation was investigated. In the course of experiment IR and Element analysis were used to attribute the relative St-g-PDM and St-g-PVAm. I. Synthesis of St-g-PDM and St-g-PDM HC1 and Study of its performances:1, Study of the copolymerization of St-g-PDM , St-g-PDM HCl: St-g-PDM and St-g-PDM HC1 were synthesized using CAN or KPS as initiator. The influence of temperature , initiator and its consistence as well as pH were studied systematicaly. IR and Element analysis were used to attribute the relative St-g-PDM and St-g-PDM HCl.2 Study of absorption of metallic ion with St-g-PDM and St-g-PDM HC: The influence of temperature, stir, pH and the diameter of copolymer were studied. It has practical significance to the aspect of absorption of henvy metal ion and it is important in the field of environmental protection, such as the pollution of heavy mental.3, Study of flocculation of with St-g-PDM and St-g-PDM HC: The influence of temperature , stir, pH and initiator, as well as the diameter of copolymer were studied, and at the same time, St-g-PDM, St-g-PDM -HC1 with sulfate, polyaluminum chloridePAC), PAM, St-g-PAM and so on were also compared.4, Study of catalytic function of Cu-St-g-PDM: Cu-St-g-PDM was synthesized with St-g-PDM and Cu( II) as substance, it was found that Cu-St-g-PDM had catalytic function to MMA. II. Synthesis of St-g-PVAm and Study of its performances:The St-g-PVAm was synthesized by means of two methods: (1) the St-g-PAM was synthesized firstly, and then the St-g-PVAm was synthesized by means of Hofmann degradation. (2) PAM was synthesized by means of homo-polymerization, and then the St-g-PVAm was synthesized by means of grafting copolymerization and Hofmann degradation at same time. The performance of absorption and flocculation of metallic ion with St-g-PVAm and St-g-PDM, respectively, shows that St-g-PVAm has strong capability of absorption of heavy metallic ion.
