This paper reviews the program and development of water treatmentagent in the water treatment industry of China. The synthetic organicflocculant PAM, performance testing and structural characterizationmethods is discussed. On this basis, the D-fructose, N,N-methylenebisacryla-mide (MBA), diacetone acrylamide (DAAM) as raw materialstake place of copolymerization with acrylamide in water bath as initiatorammonium persulfate triggered to produce radicals. The infrared spectrumshowed that the reaction of D-Fructose-polyacrylamide,MBA-polyacryl-amide and DAAM-polyacrylamide was occurred.Under optimal conditions, the D-fructose-polyacrylamide copolymerweight average molecular weight:1.31×10~8; MBA-acrylamide copolymerweight average molecular weight:2.55×10~8;DAAM-acrylamidecopolymer weight average molecular weight:0.62×10~8. Flocculationwater purification tests showed that the water purification effect ofD-fructose-polyacrylamide is worse than commercially available poly-acrylamide;And the water purification effect of MBA-polyacrylamidecopolymer is worse than the commercially available polyacrylamide;MBA-polyacrylamide have good water retention effect. The water purify-cation effect of DAAM-polyacrylamide was slightly better than thecommercially available polyacrylamide.
