Silk fibroin has good biological compatibility and was widely studied as biological material. But in the dry condition, the pure silk fibroin films are brittle so as to lose their practical application. So it is necessary to resolve this kind of defect. In this paper, the blends of silk fibroin and sodium carboxyl methyl cellulose blend membranes are prepared. Here, it is also detected the effect of the sorts of the sodium carboxyl methyl cellulose, the conditions for mixing ,such as the ratio of each components, reactive time, reactive temperature, kinds of denaturant and the content of the denaturant on the properties of the blends. Here are some important conclusions.(l)In the membranes of silk fibroin and sodium carboxyl methyl cellulose blend membranes, they formed hydrogen bonds to decrease the hydrogen bonds of peptides of silk fibroin itself. The strength of the pure silk fibroin membranes decreased with the elongation enhanced.(2)In consideration of all the mechanical properties of the membranes, when reactive time is 1.5h, reactive time is from 30℃ to 50℃, the content of the urea is from 10%to 20% and the content of the silk fibroin is over 70%, blends will have proper strength, elongation and can be used as biological material.(3)By the study of blood-compatibility and summarizing all aspects, it is considered that the ideal material is the silk fibroin and sodium carboxyl methyl cellulose membranes (FM6) prepared in reactive time 1.5h,in reactive temperature 30℃ , the content of the silk fibroin is over 70% and the content of urea is from 10% to 20% .
