| This thesis described two easy accesses to synthesize branched and linear homoallylic alcohols. Branched homoallylic alcohols were obtained in moderate to good yields using indium-mediated allylation reactions with 2-phenyl-4-bromo-2-butene in mild condition. On the other hand, linear homoallylic alcohols were obtained using allylic transfer reactions with excellent diastereoselectivities and good yields. In addition, both the a-homoallylic alcohol and γ-homoallylic alcohol were employed to react with aldehydes. The results showed that only the reaction of a-homoallylic alcohol exhibited good selectivities. Then both the E type a-homoallylic alcohol and Z type a-homoallylic alcohol were employed to investigate the scope and mechanism of the intramolecular oxonium-ene cyclization reaction. The products exhibited excellent yields with moderate to good selectivities. |
