The simulation of the TDI process has been studied systemically in this paper. The phosgene synthesis reactor is the main object of the study. We developed the mechanism model of the unit according to the equilibrium of mass, energy and momentum, and chose the suitable numerical method and made dynamic simulation program according the form and characteristics of the model. The really applied results proved that all of the model, algorithm and software are correct. The phosgene synthesis reactor is tube style. The activated carbon cat is packed in the tube, and the circle cooling water flow through the shell to take out the reaction heat to control the reaction temperature. The mixture of CO and CL2 which have been mixed in proportion, flow through the tube. Under the certain temperature and pressure, the CO react with CL2 and are turned into COCL2. On the basis of the number of components involved in this system, we distinguished five independent reactions to simulate complicated reaction system. We respectively developed PFR and CSTR model and calculated them, selected suitable dynamics equations and improved their parameter in order to meet the requirement of the TDI process. For the dynamic simulation system, all modules are connected together and become a whole mathematics module by sequential model method. Developed the dynamic simulation system software of TDI process. The software has been successfully applied in the simulation training system. We also did many optimization works for both the process and the control system using the system software.
